and other minorities through faith-based, therapeutic services.
Our Vision
We believe that we
are all interconnected and by improving the lives of some, we improve the lives
of all. With this philosophy in mind, we envision:
- The
implementation of programs and services that will improve community
living for everyone.
|
- A focus on African-American, and other minority, children who are disproportionately removed from their families, placed in substitute care and who tend to stay longer than their counterparts.
|
- Family-centered strength-based and community treatment options that create
a higher standard of client services demanding human respect,
dignity, and personal fulfillment for all.
|
- Enhanced recognition and acceptance of diversity such that every
individual experiences both a sense of uniqueness and of belonging.
|
Our Goals
|
- To encourage respect and enhance quality living by advocating
strong family-centered and community-based treatment options;
|
- To provide innovative services that ensure the needs of children
and families are met in a compassionate, professional and timely
manner;
|
- To maintain leadership and commitment to delivering innovative and
flexible services;
|
- To develop and retain licensed therapeutic foster parents who
value and respect the children placed in their care;
|
- To recruit and develop qualified staff dedicated to making a
positive impact in the lives of the children and families they
serve.

Our History
Founder and President, Reverend C L Day, M.S.W., opened the doors to N.O.A.H. in 1996 with one purpose in mind – to provide quality social services to all children and families. While working as a consultant for the Indiana State Foster Care Program, Reverend C L Day came to the realization that some children in substitute care, especially those in foster care, receive inadequate services. These children enter the system faster, stay longer, are more likely to end up in correctional institutions and are disproportionately represented in the system.
